No. The £100 fee is the current Companies House charge for standard online incorporation, not an all-inclusive price for forming and running your business. A service quote may include other work, and recurring responsibilities continue after the company is registered. We suggest separating the government filing fee, the provider’s work and the cost of maintaining the company before you compare offers. [1]
If you are setting up a UK company from overseas, a low headline price can be difficult to assess. You need to know what will be completed for you, what you must supply, and who handles the work after incorporation. Those questions matter more than whether two packages use the same name.
Ask for the filing charge and service work on separate lines
The official fee table lists standard incorporation at £100 online or through software, and £124 on paper. These are Companies House charges, not our service prices. [1] Confirm the route covered by your quote and ask whether the government fee is included.
Then check the actual deliverables: preparation and submission, any address arrangements offered, identity-related work, and the handover of company records. Do not assume a package covers an item merely because another provider includes it. If an item requires a separate provider or authorisation, establish who is responsible before you pay.
The confirmation statement is a separate recurring filing
Companies House currently charges £50 for an online confirmation statement and £110 for a paper CS01. The annual fee is payable with the first statement in a 12-month payment period; another statement within that same payment period does not automatically mean another government fee. The payment period and the review period are different. [2]
For your service quote, ask whether preparation and filing are included, whether the government fee is separate, and how additional work is priced. A renewal invoice should make those parts understandable. Paying a formation fee does not, by itself, appoint anyone to manage later filings.
No sales yet does not mean no Companies House work
Even a dormant limited company must file annual accounts and a confirmation statement. Companies House allows qualifying small dormant companies to file dormant accounts, but the filing requirement remains. [3]
If you are keeping a company ready for a future project, budget for its actual status rather than assuming that an unused company has no responsibilities. Before accepting a dormant-company package, have its status checked against its transactions. Ask what happens when you begin trading and which services will need to change.
Build the budget around what the company will do
Tell us whether the company will sign customer contracts, sell through a marketplace, employ people or hold stock. Also tell us where the goods and customers will be. This helps us scope the company formation and relevant VAT services with you.
A UK company registration does not settle every EU VAT question. If your business will also hold stock or trade in EU countries, describe that flow before requesting a single “UK company plus VAT” price. Keep government charges, provider fees and operating expenses separate in your budget, and ask how work outside the agreed scope will be approved.
Ask us for a scope you can compare
We provide UK company formation and VAT registration and filing services within our confirmed service scope. Send us your country of residence, ownership plans and intended trading arrangements. If you already have a quote, you can send the service list with sensitive details removed so we can discuss the corresponding work you need.
We will confirm the deliverables, third-party involvement where needed, and our fees before engagement. The government amounts above are reference points, not a JWhelp package quote or a promise of approval.
Email contact@jwhelp-eu.com with your planned business activity and the work you want covered. You do not need to send passwords or full identity documents with your initial enquiry.
