Why there is no single universal “EU EPR number”

The same seller may have separate packaging, battery and WEEE duties. A packaging number does not replace battery or electrical-equipment registration.

Producers, importers and online sellers commercially placing packaged goods in Germany may need LUCID registration. The official registration itself is free.
Retail and shipment packaging commonly arising at private final consumers may also require scheme participation and volume reporting.
A foreign business may appoint a Germany-based authorised representative in certain circumstances, while official registration rules still apply.

Is LUCID registration free?
The official LUCID registration is free. Where packaging is subject to system participation, a recycling scheme contract and fees normally arise separately.
Does German EPR cover the whole EU?
No. EPR is commonly administered by country and category, so France, Spain and other markets require separate assessment.
Can an agency complete the producer’s initial LUCID registration?
The official rules reserve key registration information and declarations to the producer. An adviser can prepare information and guide the process, but should not misrepresent the responsible party.
Does marketplace approval prove full compliance?
No. Marketplace verification is only one gate. Reporting, updates, fees and other category obligations continue to rest with the responsible business.
